Heather Walrod is from Hattiesburg, Mississippi. She received her BFA from Mississippi State University in 2002. In 2004 she moved to one of her favorite cities, San Francisco, California. In 2008 she received her MFA from the Academy of Art University. Toward the end of her career in graphic design, she wanted to start working with her hands more and get back to exploring the fine arts. In 2019 she started to explore the worlds of ceramics and printmaking. Wanting to move closer to home in 2020, she moved to Ocean Springs, Mississippi. Here she found her family at the Ohr O’Keef pottery studio. All of her pottery pieces are one of a kind. She does not create multiples or sets. She has always had a passion for color theory that has extended into her glazing process. Bright and whimsical, you will find no two pieces alike!
